WINNIPEG --The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without receiver Cory Watson for a little while.

Bombers head coach Tim Burke said Thursday that Watson could be sidelined as long as a month with a hamstring injury sustained Wednesday in practice.

With Watson ailing, the Bombers signed rookie receiver Brett Carter from the practice roster and he'll dress for Friday night's home game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Receiver Chris Matthews, the CFL's top rookie last season, is doubtful for Friday night's game, as is veteran Terrence Edwards with a shoulder injury.

More to come...

Your comparing losing Fantuz to losing Edwards, Mathews and Watson? That's our 1,2 &3 top receivers, basically our whole offence (Minus Simpson). Fantuz is good but replacing ONE guy isn't nearly as tough as your whole receiving corps. Bombers have a LOT of depth in receivers, Many being young and up n comers mind you, their chance to earn a spot is now.. Especially how Watson can block, we all know Pierce needs that extra blocking BADLY. Having 4 or 5 starters out of D doesn't help either - Hurry back Johnny Sears!

Fantuz and twice the amount of injuries was TFC's point.

That aside, this is really disturbing and this merits "whining." Whenever a western team crosses over, it really reflects the Eastern division, and I don't want to see a repeat of that!

Go Bombers!

Go Ti-Cats!

Go Allouettes!

Go... I can't so this... Someone finish this for me...

And go Ottawa in 2014!

From what I hear, Edwards will be back and starting. Try losing most of your starting D line which has been the Ticats' lot. MY point was injuries are a part of the game, it is tough when you lose a number of key players in one area but that's when you expect the other guys to step up and prove why they are on the team! Whining doesn't help, just deal with it!

Gee Austin lost one of his his best receivers, Fantuz, with an injury in practice (not by a teammate of course) and no one has heard him whining about finding a way to replace him. That's why a team needs depth. Hamilton has TWICE as many injuries as BBs and no one has been crying the blues in Tigertown - its a part of the game - deal with it!

Angry? Me? Not a bit. I'm enjoying Vancouver and looking at BC Place lit up in Lions colours from the hotel window as I type!

Another injury to a key player is the last thing the Bombers need right now especially when it's caused by a teammate, that's when you know things are going wrong

Dummy play. If Dan West thinks this will get him noticed by the coaches he's right. He might be on the practice roster for a LONG time.
