EDMONTON -- After they put up just one point in a loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Edmonton Eskimos' offence to a major hit on Monday.

Esks General Manager Eric Tillman announced that receiver Adarius Bowman has suffered both a torn ACL and MCL, the recovery of which will take nine to 10 months.

"Unfortunately, we received confirmation today that Adarius has torn both the ACL and MCL in his left knee, which is obviously terrible news for this young man and our club," said Tillman in a release.

"The rehabilitation process from this injury is normally nine to 10 months, and our prayers will be with him for a full recovery. Adarius is blessed with a very competitive drive and spirit, and that tenacity will be one of his greatest assets during this process."

Last season, Bowman missed four games with cracked ribs, but managed to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career.

In two games in 2012, Bowman registered nine receptions for 145 yards.

I'd like to add my best wishes for Adarius Bowman to those of previous posters. This was a particularly devastating injury for him and the Esks. If there is a bright spot it may be that such things can help a team pull together more than they would have otherwise.

I really like Adarius Bowman -- he is a great complement to Fred Stamps, and has a wonderful attitude/enthusiasm! This is really bad news for the Esks. Hope to see him healthy and playing again very soon.

Let's wish this kid a speedy recovery. He was starting to come into his own as a big play receiver for the Eskies. I wish him luck, it'll be a tough road back but he'll be OK!

Very unfortunate for Bowman and the Esks since that puts an end to his season. Wish him well in his recovery - it will be a long road ahead to be ready for next season.
