REGINA -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today the signing of import receiver Kierrie Johnson to the active roster.

Financial details of the agreement were not released.
 
Johnson joins the Riders after most recently spending time with the B.C Lions during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. The 24-year-old totaled 34 receptions for 514 yards and one touchdown in 14 games played while with the Lions.

A native of Houston,TX, Johnson played three seasons for the Houston Cougars during his collegiate career, finishing with receiving totals of 85 receptions for 1,308 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He was cut after the trade deadline. How is allowed on the active roster? Did they change the rules since last year, when Hamilton was not allowed to play Terrence Jeffers-Harris in the East Final?
