REGINA -- The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Tuesday that they have released import receiver Greg Carr.

Carr joined the Riders in a trade with the Eskimos last September.

In 2012, the 27-year-old racked up 377 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 34 receptions, appearing in 14 games in the process.

In a win over the Eskimos in Week 1, Carr hauled in one pass for a five-yard gain.

Now in his fourth CFL season, Carr has showed glimpses of being an impact receiver, collecting a career total of 1,598 yards and 10 touchdowns on 112 receptions.

This is the American receiver that we traded a
canadian starting offensive lineman for, not sure if I could ever justify trading a canadian for a american, but wow this might top the all-time bonehead trade list Taman

@Ti-cats: that's been the storyline on this guy for the past couple years and he hasn't shown any improvement... Why keep an expensive receiver who isn't performing up to his best abilities when the Riders have Simon coming back from injury, and Kierre Johnson and other less expensive practice roster recievers waiting in the wings?
