CALGARY – The Calgary Stampeders announced today that they have extended the contract of all-star punter Rob Maver. He was set to become a free agent February 15.
As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Maver was the Canadian Football League and West Division all-star punter in 2012 after leading the league with a net punting average of 36.2 yards. He punted the ball 112 times for 4,839 yards and a gross average of 43.2 yards per kick.
“Rob had a very good season in his first year as a CFL punter and I look forward to seeing him build on his 2012 season,” said Hufnagel, “The special teams were an essential component of the team’s success this past season and Rob was an important contributor to that success.”
