The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced that veteran offensive lineman Andrew Greene announced his retirement. Greene was a member of the Riders in 1997 and from 1999 until the conclusion of the 2006 CFL season.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders confirmed that non-import offensive lineman Wayne Smith ruptured his left Achilles tendon and is expected to miss the entire 2009 season. Smith suffered the injury on Thursday afternoon while working out with a private trainer.
