Ottawa Returning to the Canadian Football League
On March 3, 2009, the Canadian Football League officially renewed its commitment to bringing the game back to the city of Ottawa. On October 12, 2012 the CFL announced that it was on course to proudly add a ninth team in the nation's capital in time for the 2014 season. This, following a vote of 21 to 3 by Ottawa City Council to proceed with plans proposed by the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group to transform Frank Clair Stadium into a leading sports facility and surround it with an exciting new residential and retail complex.
