Eskimos sign Diedrick

The Edmonton Eskimos announced today that non-import running back Dahrran Diedrick has signed with the club.

The Eskimos had originally drafted Diedrick in the third round (24th overall) in the 2002 CFL Canadian College Draft. He was the first ever Canadian scholarship recruit at the University of Nebraska and rushed for 2,745 career yards as a Husker.

Diedrick opted for the NFL where he was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in May of 2003. He was released by San Diego in July and joined the Green Bay Packers for a short stint and made one final stop with the Washington Redskins late last year. He was added to the active roster for the final regular season game and was allocated to NFL Europe before being given his outright release in late August.
