REGINA — Jeremy O’Day is making his way up the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ front office.
The former lineman was promoted to assistant general manager Wednesday after joining the Riders’ front office as their football operations co-ordinator earlier this year.
“Jeremy has surpassed our expectations in the job he has done for us,” GM Brendan Taman said in a statement. “He brings forth incredible dedication and passion to this job and he knows the importance of the Riders to this community.
“He has an outstanding relationship with the players and has proved very proficient on the player-personnel side of the business.”
O’Day joined the Riders in ’99 and played 12 seasons on the offensive line. He appeared in 202 regular-season games and 16 post-season contests with the club as well as three Grey Cup games, winning in 2007.
“I am extremely thankful to Brendan and president/CEO Jim Hopson for giving me this opportunity,” O’Day said. “Continuing my career with this organization after 12 great years of playing has been a dream come true.”
