VANCOUVER — Travis Lulay is expected to be the BC Lions’ starting quarterback in Week 18, head coach Wally Buono confirmed on Tuesday.

“They’re both taking a lot of reps but we expect Travis to start,” Buono told the media after practice when asked if Lulay or Jonathon Jennings would start against the Stampeders. “If we have to then Jonathon will be ready.”

Lulay practiced with the starters on Tuesday as the Lions prepare for their trip to Calgary to take on the Stamps on Saturday.

“I’ve caught up to where everybody else is playing hurt at this time of the season,” Lulay said of his progress. “Nobody feels great at this time of the year and that’s just the bottom line. But I definitely feel good, confident and ready to play.”

Lulay injured his non-throwing shoulder on Sept. 14 vs. the Montreal Alouettes and has been sidelined ever since.

Recently-acquired running back Tyrell Sutton also practiced with the starters and is expected to make his first start as a BC Lion, Ullrich reported.

Injured linebacker Solomon Elimimian was an observer and has been ruled out for Saturday’s game.
